MCP server
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor to GroundUI so your AI assistant can search mobile app screens and build them from a brief.
GroundUI runs a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Once your assistant is connected, it can search the library of 626 mobile app screens and get a build brief with the design image and reference source in Flutter, React Native, Jetpack Compose or SwiftUI.
Server URL
https://groundui.dev/mcpThe server uses Streamable HTTP and needs a GroundUI account on a paid plan (Pro, Teams or Lifetime). Every tool is read-only.
Connect your assistant
Each client signs in to your GroundUI account in the browser the first time it connects.
Claude
On claude.ai or in the Claude app, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste the server URL, then choose Connect and sign in to GroundUI.
ChatGPT
Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode, then choose Create app. Paste the server URL, choose OAuth and sign in to GroundUI.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http groundui https://groundui.dev/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code and choose GroundUI to sign in.
Cursor
Add this to .cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"groundui": { "url": "https://groundui.dev/mcp" }
}
}Cursor opens the browser to sign in the first time it connects.
Without a browser
For CI, scripts or any client that cannot open a browser, create an API key in Settings → Agent access and send it as a bearer token:
claude mcp add --transport http groundui https://groundui.dev/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer gui_your_key"Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
search_screens | Search by words, category, flow or framework. Returns screen ids, frameworks, free or Pro access and a preview image. |
get_screen_brief | A Markdown brief for building one screen: design image, purpose, step-by-step instructions and reference source. Takes a framework (flutter, react-native, kotlin, swiftui) and the agent that builds it (claude-code, cursor, v0, lovable). |
get_screen | Full details for one screen as JSON, with source per framework when your account has access. |
get_flow | The screens of a multi-screen flow, such as onboarding or checkout, in the order to build them. |
list_facets | The categories, flows and frameworks in the library with screen counts, to use as filters. |
search, fetch | The same search and brief in the shape ChatGPT expects from a connector it can search. |
Example prompt

- The MCP server and source code come with a paid plan: Pro, Teams or Lifetime. See pricing.
- The server only reads the screen library. It cannot change anything in your GroundUI account.
- Disconnect an app or revoke an API key at any time in Settings → Agent access. It stops working at once.
FAQ
Which AI assistants can connect?
Any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor sign in with OAuth in the browser. Clients that cannot open a browser can send a GroundUI API key.
Do I need a paid plan?
Yes. The MCP server needs a GroundUI account on Pro, Teams or Lifetime, signed in through OAuth or an API key. The Free plan lets you browse screens and copy agent briefs on the site.
